In 2015, FIFA introduced a method for predicting the full soccer ball roll using a much smaller turf sample than required for a full ball roll. This method can be used in combination with the Lisport XL for their Laboratory Quality Test Program or as a stand-alone unit.
The system consists of 2 sets of time-gates which are activated by optical sensors. With four different release heights of the ball on the Ball ramp it is possible to calculate the real roll distance of the ball.
